Community & Industry Involvement
Nearly 25 years of work and experience as an independent firm has given Rountree Group the ability to share our knowledge and expertise with a number of organizations and industry-related groups.
Neva initiated the development of Leadership Sandy Springs in 1986 as a Sandy Springs Chamber of Commerce program. Her vision of a cohesive, multi-interest group that would evolve to start and lead many community endeavors has become reality. She has contributed to the communications industry in Georgia by serving as president of The University of Georgia Grady College Journalism Alumni Association, on the University Board of Managers and on the advisory board of the Georgia Alumni Record. Neva has been president of the Public Relations of America/Georgia chapter, then the third largest in the country, and was elected to its PR Hall of Fame in 2003. In addition, she has been on numerous community boards, such as the Northside Hospital Foundation Advisory Board, the YWCA twice, and others.
In 1998, Don Rountree founded, and remains active today in, Georgia Southern University’s Public Relations Advisory Board. In 2002, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Board. His commitment to the communications profession includes chairing multiple committees and being a board member for the Public Relations Society of America/Georgia chapter, as well as for the national chapter. In addition, Don has been involved with long-term planning for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, a board member for Sandy Springs Revitalization, board member and public relations chair for Leadership Sandy Springs and has served on the Board of Directors for the Lewis Grizzard Foundation.
On behalf IPREX, a global consortium of 70 independent public relations agencies of which the agency is an owner, Don has been an active committee member and served on executive committee.
